Stock up on wedding wear at this exhibition by WeaveinIndia
With the wedding season barely a month away, handloom sari label WeaveinIndia will put up an exhibition and sale at Raintree. Ideal for brides, the wedding party and other guests, the sale promises to showcase an exquisite collection carefully hand-picked and curated by the founder of the label Madira Bansal. “With the wedding season around the corner, every girl’s agenda is to make heads turn and there is nothing better than a well planned wardrobe for such occasions,” says Mandira.
On offer will be Benarasis, bandhinis, Kotas, Kanjeevarams and Patan patolas in addition to linens, jamdanis, Uppadas, Chanderi and Paithani saris. Apart from saris, the collection will feature striking lehengas, dupattas and blouses designed by Mandira. “Our weavers are from Varanasi, Ahmedabad, Kanchipuram, Patan, interiors of Kolkata and Paithan. I travel across the country to check the authenticity of these weaves. The time taken for weaving these is anywhere between 15 days to three months. The Patan patolas take at least four months to a year and they come with the GI certificate,” she shares.
