Designer Jayanti Reddy has been quite busy lately. Her designs were recently worn by Kriti Sanon and Namrata Shirodkar. This week, she unveiled her Winter/Festive’19 collection at Collage Shop India. Titled Benares and Beyond, the collection employs luxe Benarasi fabrics, sheer organza and net to create garments that are truly glamorous and festive.
The designer, who is known for her clothes that are elegant and relatively understated, with a focus on naturally dyed, hand-woven textiles, has detailed this particular collection with nature-inspired motifs such as mangoes and flowers. The luxe textiles are in a colour palette that shifts from ivory and beige to pista green, hot pink and wine.
The vibrant line-up of clothes feature silhouettes such as anarkalis, dhoti salwars, lehengas and fusion sari drapes, all bearing intricate embroidery which is one of the label’s signatures. Some of our favourites from the collection include a deep purple tunic and dhoti set with golden embroidery, a beige anarkali with dull golden embroidery and a pale green sari with an embroidered silver border.
