Scorching haute - Lime Soda’s summer pop-up gets quirky

A regular in the city’s fashion circuit, Soundariya K Anil is set to host the third edition of the Lime Soda Pop-up, Sunny Side Up, at Amethyst, on April 12 and 13. While the pop-up promises the usual mix of clothing, gifts, accessories, jewellery and home decor from 25 designers across the country, our attention is drawn to apparel from Kolkata-based designer Sougat Paul’s label, Soup, and Mumbai-based Aarthi Vjiay Gupta’s eponymous brand. “This pop-up is an amalgamation of the fashion sensibilities of designers from across the country.First-timers at the show, Paul and Gupta, who have showcased at LFW, offer quirky silhouettes and prints that are not common among designers from the South,” says curator of the show, Soundariya.

In Soup’s prêt Spring collection being launched at the two-day event, expect to find the label’s signature geometric prints on dhoti pants, jumpsuits, tunics, shift dresses and draped sari dresses in chiffon, crepe, cotton and silk, while Gupta will showcase her Spring 2016 line featuring details like notebook scribbles, pressed flowers and leaves and garden motifs on jackets, shirts, and A-line dresses. “From among city designers, we have Indian wear by Bandana Narula, men’s accessories from The Alternative and gifting options from Avec Amour,” she says.

The showcase will also include Shibori outfits by Delhi-based label May Boutique, Indo-Western wear by Meghna Baid of Jaipur, and cocktail gowns from Clothing Palette by Chennai-based designers Nirupama & Nisha.

From `150 onwards. At Amethyst. From 10.30 am. Details: 45991633
