IF YOU LOVE trying out new experiences in gastronomy, then Artsy Coffee and Culture’s revamped menu is not worth missing. The café, which is known for brewing coffees with precision and indulging patrons in cultural extravaganzas, has added a few fresh bites, keeping health and flavour factors intact.

As we sipped on the refreshing Phoenix Phantasy, a delightful combination of orange juice and black coffee, owner Manjyot Kaur filled us up with the updated menu. “We have always kept our menu in such a size that the food is the freshest and most flavourful. We have worked on our breakfast menu this time, adding a variety of omelettes, egg benedicts, huevos rancheros, pancakes and toasts. We have extensively used avocados in our recipes, a fruit that’s extremely tough to work with. It will be available all day.”

What followed the conversation was a lineup of new bites on our table that’s worth recommending. Their breakfast menu, with eight new types of fluffy omelettes and pancakes, are delicious and healthy. Novel combinations like rosemary and garlic, pesto and roasted tomato and classic recipes like mushroom and spinach are a good way to start your day. We sampled a Rosti with lemon cream cheese and guacamole. The crispy hashbrown, in the shape of a pancake, with flavoursome guacamole and creamy toppings, is a delectable addition to the menu. We also sampled the Bechamel Garlic Mushrooms on toast, and the balance of flavours on the bread was quite notable. In case you’re looking for something filling, then take a bite of their Marinara Italian Meatball Sandwich, where chicken or lamb meatballs are tossed in a rustic tomato sauce and laid out on sourdough bread, with buffalo mozzarella and basil. The meaty and ambrosial sandwich will surely remind you of Joey Tribiani from the popular sitcom F.R.I.E.N.D.S and just like him, we said — ‘Good!’

The café believes in stepping out of their comfort zone, and whipping up new flavours, which means you will be missing some of your favourites. For instance, the Pan Roasted Chicken, Zucchini Pancake and Bhetki Wrap will be sorely missed. To replace these dishes, look out for international options like a delectable Avocado & Sweet Potato Soft Shell Tacos and The House Harissa Grilled Chicken Breast served with fresh basil quinoa. The latter was surprisingly non-spicy, and the combination of quinoa and chicken is a great option for breakfast. Thankfully, the signature Cold Brew, with a zing of lemon, has not been replaced, and we happily sipped on the refreshing and tangy potion. The Seared Watermelon Salad with feta is a good deal during summer.
