Head to this immersive coffee workshop in Coorg to learn about brewing techniques and latte art

The sprawling Old Kent Estates, a luxury resort and coffee estate spread across 200 acres in Coorg gears up to host an immersive four-day coffee workshop to coincide with the beginning of the arabica coffee harvest season. The workshop, titled Crop To Cup, will be helmed by Marc Tormo, a roastmaster from Barcelona.

Said to be one of the country’s oldest plantations, Old Kent Estates was established by a British planter in the 1800s and grows both arabica and robusta coffee. The bushes are shaded under a two-tier canopy made up of rosewood, silver oak and cluster-fig trees, some of them over 100 years old.

At the workshop, participants will get to harvest the beans with locals, learn about how coffee is sustainably cultivated in India, gain an understanding of roasting techniques and identify the subtle notes present in the beans. In addition, one can also learn wbout different brewing techniques and latte art.
