Come winter and the Gosht Paaya will warm not just your heart but body as well, literally. A particular morning delicacy of the season, Gosht Paaya is a soupy preparation made from mutton shanks. Slow cooked overnight, this winter delicacy is being brought to your breakfast platter by the city's Shiraz Golden Restaurant, and will be served all throughout this season.

From the royal kitchen it’s not just the heavenly biryani that rules our heart but the Paaya as well that’s flavourful, thanks to the variety of spices used into it. With a dash of lemon and coriander leaves this hot stew, served with Khamri roti or naan, tastes nothing but heavenly. Prepared with precision by Chef Wasi, the breakfast menu also includes Brain Curry and Kalla, two more winter special preparations right from the royal kitchen. If you are a fan of mutton brain fry, this recipe prepared in curry style is nothing but sublime. You can have it with naan. The Kalla, or mutton head is another favourite curry during winters, that is on the menu at the Mallick bazar outlet.

The winter breakfast menu would only be available from 6.30 to 8.30 am so better reach within those two hours to make the most of winters. Ishtiaque Ahmed, partner Shiraz Golden Restaurant said, "Winter is all about Paaya, Kalla and Brain curry. They are known to have properties that keeps the body warm. Our winter menu is small but it's worth spending your morning over good food."
