As the celebrations of .FEST (Bhubaneswar City Festival) begin to breathe excitement and festivity across the city of Bhubaneswar, the International Street Food Festival will showcase food from over 16 countries and across different states of India and specialties of Odisha as part of the festival’s extravaganza from December 1 to 16. The food festival is being held at IDCO Exhibition Ground where the celebrity performances will be held. The first lucky 10,000 people to reach the venue, will get free entry on a first come, first serve basis in the concert pit area.

The International Street Food Festival is one of a kind, promising to be a spectacular exhibition of food from across the globe. There’s something for every kind of palette—whether it’s authentic Odia cuisine or Japanese, 24 food stalls, each hosted by different hotel groups from the city like Trident Hotel, Sandy’s Tower, Moody Blues, Crown Hotel, Mayfair Group of Hotels and many more. Each participant will serve street food favorites from one or two countries, Indian states and popular Odisha street food.

The hotels participating will have international Chefs preparing the cuisine. While some chefs are in house, some are being flown down from other countries like Malaysia and Japan, to make the street food specialty of their country as authentic as they possibly can. The festival promises the best international fare from over 16 countries participating in the Odisha Hockey Men’s World Cup 2018 and more —Spain, Italy, France, Ireland, Mexico, Australia, Japan, Thailand, England, China, UAE, Mongolia, Malaysia, Germany, Switzerland, Argentina, Netherlands, Belgium, Pakistan and New Zealand. The other international cuisines that one will get to indulge in apart from the ones participating in the world cup are American, Japanese and Afghani cuisine.

As part of the local cuisine, expect everything from Egg Chop, Jhal Mudhi, Malpua, Kachori Chaat and
Rolls to Prawn Chop, Keema Chop and Patra Poda—everything available to you in one place. Bring your
appetite along and make sure you give everything a taste.

Speaking on .FEST, Dhwaneil J. Desai, F&B Service Manager, Trident Bhubaneswar said, “The .FEST is a true amalgamation of flavours and cuisines from all over the world. It also brings together the finest cuisines from across the country and Odisha. We are excited that Bhubaneswar is conducting such an incredible food festival and we are delighted to be part of it.”

Speaking on the upcoming event, Michael from the city’s popular restaurant, Michael’s Kitchen said, “This the first time that such a unique food festival is being conducted in India. Everyone is creating their own cuisine from a country as well as cuisines on the theme of Incredible India. We are creating popular street food specialties from France and Netherlands. The highlight is what we are preparing from our state of Odisha like Chicken Kakara, Poda Chingudi Checha, chaat in a papad cone and sweet treats like Chocolate Chhena Poda. We look forward to the people enjoying the food.”

The food stalls will be available from 6pm to 11pm every day of the festival. While you indulge your taste buds in different cuisines during the festival, you can also take delight in the flea bazaar and performances from some of the country’s best artists. The .FEST will take place in Bhubaneswar from 1st December to 16th December, 2018.
