Frozen Bottle's winter menu serves up fuss-free waffle sandwiches and sticks
Blending the childhood fantasy of eating a lollipop with the grownup idea of a delightful dessert on top, instead of sticky, coloured candy, seems like a nice idea. But when you actually bite into the Banana Caramel Delight at Frozen Bottle (Road No 10, Jubilee Hills), it is soft and crunchy at the same time. Easy to bite and with the right amounts of sugar, fruit and nuts, this one’s name seems apt.
These waffle sticks also come in easy-to-carry cardboard boxes, so you can always take a bite while waiting for the traffic signal to turn green. Sneha Reddy, Business Development Manager at the milkshake place which opened in May this year says, “When you are hungry, you want to eat and it better be non-messy. So we created these easy-to-eat and no-stains-left waffle sticks.”
The Banana Caramel Delight indeed came looking like a Christmas goody – a flat stick with a star-shaped waffle with dices of banana and a bunch of yummy sauces, nuts, etc. One can bite into each extension of the star, and the waffle still seems intact, without crumbling. Her other recommendation was the Ms Pink Beauty, a waffle sandwich with red velvet cake as the filling. This beauty had the right amount of sugar and the mushy red filling left a feel-good vibe. That it left no marks on the fingers makes it a good choice, even while on the go.
While this Bengaluru-based milkshake and waffle place’s signature shakes – Popcorn and Rosy Gulkand are still its bestsellers, which their patrons seem to love experimenting with. There are six variations on the menu, and considering their orders on food delivery apps, Hyderabadis love the waffle additions. Sneha feels that these innovations are here to stay, long after 2018 and winter. That’s so waffle.
