MUMBAI-BASED brand Sweetish House Mafia bakes goodness like no other. Their freshly baked cookies conspire to make you surrender to the heavenly confectioneries without thinking of the calories gained for once.
In Kolkata, they have two outlets — one at Forum Courtyard and the other at Hungerford Street. The air at the basement of the Elgin Road mall was filled with the magical aroma of the freshly baked cookies and that was temptation enough. The next hour was marked by pure indulgence. We first sampled their hot seller, the Nutella Sea Salt cookie. The warm cookie with gooey choco chips and the punch of sea salt hit the right spot. “This is our best seller and we encourage people to have it with their hands rather than a spoon or fork,” said Aditi Jain, the master franchise owner of Eastern India. The assorted cookies available in both egg and eggless options can last for over 10 days and are made from a dough sourced from the Central Mumbai kitchen. The other heart-warming cookies in the menu include S’More, Dark Chocolate Truffle and Peanut Butter. For those who are not fond of chocolate, their oat- meal and cranberry cookies come highly recommended. There are also delectable shakes in the menu, and we happily sipped on their signature Double Chocolate Chip Shake.
Tickling our taste buds with a hot Cinapple, an aromatic liquor tea with the classic flavours of apple and cinnamon, we dug into the newly-launched Nutella Cookie Cake. The absence of any layer of sponge cake and the presence of the soft cookie layered with Nutella and topped with white chocolate chips were heavenly in every bite. The other variants include Oreo Cookie Cake, Red Velvet Cookie Cake, Chocolate Chip Cookie Cake and more.
Aditi who believes in trusting an established brand is looking forward to expanding the brand’s footprint in the Eastern part of India. “We already have delivered in Bhubhaneshwar, Jamshedpur, Siliguri and other places, and we are looking forward to tapping the market in this region. There are demands for good cookies and we are gearing ourselves up to fulfill that demand,” says Aditi who informs us that their gifting range is quite popular during festive occasions.
