The patrons of Yes Fitness Studio have it good. A quaint yet cosy juice bar called Healthy Calories has opened right underneath their gym at Elamakkara. But co-owners Sreekumar P and Ramesh Nair claim that it isn’t just millennials who are obsessed with extreme workouts—and meal replacement shakes like their 350 Kcal creamy coconut milk beverage topped with strawberry oats and protein powder—who throng to this hole-in-the-wall from 5 am onwards!

“Individuals who want to implement healthy decisions into everyday life are regulars at our cafe. They are beginning to understand that wholesome food can be delicious too,” shares Sreekumar, who has close to eight years of experience in the F&B industry with long stints at luxury properties like Taj and Leela.

Going green
While Ramesh and I discuss if blending is better than juicing (yes, it is), Sreekumar preps a drink called the Green Burn. I douse the fire within my body after consuming their fiery cucumber and gooseberry concoction topped with bird’s eye chilli by consuming a bottle of their pulpy orange, pineapple, carrot, turmeric and honey called Rise ‘n’ Shine.

“We also serve Green Coffee, which is a trending beverage among Bollywood fitness enthusiasts,” states Ramesh, as I bite into their toasted wheat bread topped with pepper-marinated boiled chicken chunks. But if none of these floats your boat, I recommend trying their Cheat Code, a heady blend of chunky peanut butter, whipped ice cream, roasted cashews and almonds.
