Part of living in Kochi includes embarking on adventurous weekend rides to find its best-kept secrets, eateries. The most active Facebook food group in the city with over 41,672 members, Eat Kochi Eat (EKE) has shown us this with their curated tasting tours like Experience Mattancherry. If you were to ask Karthik Murali, the founding member of EKE, about his tryst with food over the last year, he would say that it is always about the experience.“Ultimately what matters is the whole process of discovering a place and all that it has to offer. Food is an essential part of it,” begins the software professional-turned-entrepreneur. Food Walk Company (FWC), a month-old enterprise by Karthik and his crew is the realisation of this idea.

Flavour quest
Whether one wants to enjoy a crunchy serving of toast and scrambled eggs by a cliffside restaurant in Varkala or dine royally at Trivandrum-based Villa Maya, an 18th century revamped home, FWC knows just how to get you there.“Our tours are based on a lot of groundwork for which we travel every week. We work in tandem with the locals to find out unique places,” shares Karthik, adding that the initiative will focus on conducting food tours. So, what else do they have to offer? The 26-year-old explains that longer curated trips to cities outside Kerala, is also on the cards. For those who’re yet to get a taste of the ‘walk’, their sunrise itinerary at Kadamakudy along with a seafood-intensive meal from the nearby toddy shop is highly recommended.

Food tours from `2.500 onwards.
