Bringing you closer to those flavours from your childhood is the array of Season Special Frozen Cocktails and Mocktails at Mercure Hyderabad KCP – IQ Lounge Bar. Every drink on the menu is served frozen, and gives you the feel of sucking on golas of crushed ice full of rich and nuanced flavours. These blended drinks also stay cool for a longer time – you can relish them for more than an hour or so.
Even before you begin to sip on them, what you notice is the riot of colours – from the rich yellow of the mango in a mocktail called W&M to the cyan of the Blue Curaçao Liqueur in the cocktail Frosty Lagoon. D Krishnendra, Food and Beverages supervisor, IQ Lounge says, “The vodka-based Snowing Yellow and rum enriched Blue Lagoon on offer are must tries.” Snowing Yellow, made with canned peach extracts, a hint of vodka with a squeeze of lime juice makes for an ideal Sunday pre-brunch drink. The mixologists have refrained from using sugar syrup in the drinks, so they are mildly sweet. Next up was the Frosty Lagoon blended with ingredients like five to six drops of coconut milk, lemon and Blue Riband gin. The top layer of the ice soothes you. The hint of bitterness from the orange-flavored liqueur, the sweet coconut milk and the tang of lemon offers a delicious respite from the heat. Teetotallers need not sigh – the array of mocktails on offer are worth savouring as well. First up, The W&M, the part-mango-part- watermelon drink offers the best of summer in a glass. Made with freshly chopped watermelon, mango crush, lemon juice and honey infused with blended ice. The Go Green Apple brought to the table next is more like a mojito fix for non-drinkers. Given the lemon and the mint, this drink has a detoxifying quality about it that leaves you instantly hydrated and rejuvenated.
