Savera's Food Buddy now offers outdoor catering

Craving Amaravathi’s signature mutton biryani, Chettinad chicken from Malgudi, or maybe some dal makhani from Curry Town? Now you can order all this and more if you have a house party or an outdoor event, thanks to Savera’s venture Food Buddy. A year-old enterprise, Food Buddy, which has been into industrial catering so far, recently extended its services to outdoor catering and boxed meals,
in cuisines ranging from Indian to Continental.

Talking about the initiative, Sivakumar, the F&B Manager at Savera Group says, “Food Buddy is a sister concern of the Amaravathi Group (also under the Savera banner), which does outdoor catering as well. Apart from industrial catering, we have recently rolled out our outdoor catering services for events and parties, and have customised meal boxes like biryani combo (biryani, egg, salan and raita) and parotta combo (parotta, raita, pickle and gravy) among others.

Their outdoor catering service, about six months old, is steadily gaining popularity now. “We have a basic package for deliveries, which costs about Rs 400 per head. This includes roti, rice, salad, two gravies, dal, sweet, etc. This basic package can be customised according to the client’s wishes and the cost varies accordingly, going up to Rs 1,800 per head,” says Sivakumar, who adds that they also provide service at the venue, if necessary. “We currently cater at a 5km radius from our kitchens in Guindy and Savera in Mylapore, for a minimum of 500 people. Depending on the requirement, in addition to delivery, we also have our staff on standby, in case the client wants someone to serve the guests.

Also, there are live counters and stations for kids which we provide based on requirement,” adds Sivakumar. However, if you are insistent on the food from Savera’s restaurants to be delivered to your party, you could opt for the meal boxes. “The meal boxes we have cost Rs 150 upwards, but can be customised accordingly. With meal boxes, people have the option of choosing from specific restaurants at Savera too which, depending on the location of the delivery, will either be sent out from Savera directly,
or prepared restaurant-style in our Guindy kitchen and delivered,” says Sivakumar.
