A bowl full of rainbow colours. Even though it may sound like an abstract thought in an artist's mind, a foodie will tell you that phrases similar to this are the new hashtags on Instagram. Foodies and fitness addicts have been posting pictures of smoothie bowls that are with packed nutrition. When we were on the look out to find places that serve such bowls, the first place that was recommended by many was Fresh Pressery in Koramangala.

The cafe that's well-known for its raw+cold pressed juices has introduced a new menu that includes smoothie bowls, a special section with dishes for those on a Keto diet, a new line of smoothies and other essentials for healthy eating such as granola packs, organic coconut sugar and activated charcoal. A quick look at the menu, and we were certain that this place is for those who prefer to keep their weight in check, and like the idea of clean eating.

Power-packed

Since we had popped into the cafe early in the day, just at breakfast time, we opted to try the Banana Berry Smoothie Bowl. As a validation to the #rainbowcoloursinabowl hashtag, this large serving had all the possible reds, greens, purples, browns and whites. Our large soup spoon slid inside smoothly, cutting through the topping of chocolate granola, figs, banana, apples, pomegranate and hit the base — a blended smoothie of coconut milk, banana, blueberries and chia seeds. We took a spoonful of the smoothie, and what landed on our palate was a burst of flavours. It was a perfect blend of different tastes of blueberries, bananas and coconut milk, the coarse chocolate granola added a crunch, while the figs, banana slices and pomegranate made it all the more sweet.

With such a sweet and power-packed start, we chose to try a Whole Wheat Pasta with Olive Oil. Once again, the colours were at its best with the yellow baby corns, bright carrots, green bell peppers and brocolli, black olives and sundried tomatoes. With just the right amount of cheese and a generous helping of olive oil, this one doesn't make you miss the sauce. From the Keto dishes, we recommend the Low Carb Cauliflower Rice. This is a good choice for those who are missing carbs while on a Keto diet. It will certainly satisfy your craving for rice.

From the desserts, we chose the Dark Chocolate Quinoa Cake, made with coconut sugar. The soft and crumbly cake goes really well with the crunchy granola on the side. For those who think Fresh Pressery is only about juices, we must say, this team also whips up some really interesting smoothies and pastas. We are sure to go back for some coffee and dessert the next time.
