The city’s cycle-themed Italian eatery Ciclo (pronounced as Chee-kloh) cafe has built quite a following ever since they opened in January this year. Creating some buzz again, this 140-seater has an ongoing burger festival, at the end of which the burgers will be added to the main menu.
Specially designed for the festival, the menu is promising with an option to pair with any cocktail at `175.The list of four non-vegetarian and three vegetarian burgers is made for those who want to pamper their taste buds with cottage cheese, beef and ham, along with various spices. Expect succulent filling with greasy juices that ooze cheese, along with delectable condiments and sauces.
For those with a large appetite, there’s the Ciclo Jumbo Burger (ham, yellow cheddar cheese slice, caramelised onion) on the list.As I’m greeted inside by store manager Vishwanath Rao, I’m treated to Summery Melon – a refreshing glass comprising fresh watermelon with additional flavours such as lime, apple and cranberry juice.
From their non-vegetarian list, I try the Zouk Chicken burger. All the burgers are accompanied with mustard sauce, tomato chilli sauce, potato wedges, pickles and chopped vegetables. “The sauce is made in-house using bird’s eye chilli, mayonnaise and vinegar. We then add on the marinated chicken pieces and mix before cooking it once more,” says Kolkata-based chef Rithin Halder. Soon, Mushroom Melt finds its way to the table. Unlike the chicken burger, this one is relatively smaller in size. The thick patty consisting of onion and garlic stuffed mushrooms add to the flavour, making it mildly spiced. The other burgers to look out for include the Cheese Greek Lamb, Cajun Cottage Cheese and Crab and Rosti.
