Foodies in Kolkata can now gorge on a wide variety of authentic dim sums with quick service restaurant chain, Master Dimsum opening two more outlets at the food courts of Lake Mall and Acropolis Mall. Master Dimsum aims at serving the best of the Cantonese cuisines with a delectable offering.
“In Kolkata, dim sums are only served in fine dining restaurants. There was a huge scope to make dim sums available at an affordable rate for all foodies and we exploited that precisely. With the initial response being very encouraging, we decided to open Master Dimsum outlets at Lake Mall and Acropolis Mall and we aim at opening 20 more outlets by the end of 2019", says Shiladitya Chaudhury, partner, Master Dimsum.
The first outlet of Master Dimsum opened near Vivekananda Park off Southern Avenue in South Kolkata in August this year and has already become extremely popular with the young crowd.
Though the prices are extremely affordable, the owners, who also run popular fine diners including Chowman, Oudh 1590 and Chapter 2, have not compromised on quality of the food served. "Dim sums are still a new concept in Kolkata and we have kept the prices low to familiarise the city with it. For the next year we will run it as a pilot project in the city," says Debaditya Chaudhury, co-owner of Master Dimsum.
Master Dimsum outlets will crop up across the city in three formats - exclusive stores, kiosks and shop-in-shops.
The varied dim sum platter boasts of Sui Mai, Fish Ball Noodle Soup, Hong Kong Style Gyozas, Thai Dumplings, Meatball Stick in Noodle Soup, Spinach Mushroom Corn Ball Stick in Noodle Soup and many more.

A meal for two at Master Dimsum will cost Rs 300 plus taxes.
The outlets will remain open from 11 am to 10 pm.
