Quest 1: What does it take to handle a high profile or celebrity wedding?
Wedniksha is quiet experienced when it comes to handling high profile and celebrity weddings. We never compromise on guest relations and thus always ensure we have a good team on ground who can efficiently solve hiccups, if any. For Namit Soni and Poorna Patel’s wedding, we had a team of experts who took care of aspects, ranging from entertainment to security to anything they may want or need at any given point of time. At this wedding, we were also very particular about upholding and maintaining their privacy. They were certain about high security and we have thus managed to hold the fort.
Quest 2: Show the highlight of Namit Soni & Poorna Patel Wedding?
This weddin, in particular,r was truly magical, like a dream come true. Every aspect was created to perfection. The Wedding was held in Mumbai, at the enormous NSCI Dome and Grand Hyatt, where two functions took place respectively. The wedding functions were spread from 19 th July to 21 st July, 2018. At the Sangeet function, Bollywood celebrities such as Salman Khan, Jaqueline Fernandes and Shilpa Shetty performed along with Sonu Nigam and DJ Aman Nagpal. The entertainment at the wedding ceremony was enhanced with the presence of Dharini Thakkar & Band. The Patel and Soni family being very close knit, performed all ceremonies in a traditional manner and were extremely hospitable to their guests. The wedding definitely left some of the most cherished memories for the family and the guests for a life time.
Quest 3: describe each function and where did it take place?
On the 19th of July, 2018 the grand celebrations began with the Mehendi function at the Grand Hyatt. We had the guests dancing and grooving the night away to the tunes of Guru Randhawa and DJ Ganesh. 20th of July, 2018 marked the dazzling Sangeet night at the NSCI Dome with opening acts by Bollywood superstars Salman Khan, the gorgeous Jacqueline Fernandes and Shilpa Shetty. Other celebrities present for the function included Manish
Malhotra, Nushrat Bharucha, Karan Tacker, Freddy Daruwala and Sonu Nigam and made it an even more glorious affair. The wedding functions took place at Hotel Grand Hyatt with Dharini Thakkar and Team as the performers, followed by the reception at the NSCI Dome on the 21st of July. The night was
made to remember with the presence of artists like Merlin and Band and DJ Sandy.
Quest 4: Any challenges you faced during the wedding?
The major challenge were the inevitable Mumbai Monsoon but we overcame the same by thoughtful planning and pre-contriving. In addition, the guest list was vast and included a lot of high profile celebrities and guests. Hence security had to be very tight. At this wedding, we were also
very particular about upholding their privacy.
Quest 5: What was the overall theme of the wedding?
While the wedding did not have a particular theme, each occasion was beautifully curated keeping the essence of the ceremony in mind. They preferred the Mehendi and Wedding functions to be an intimate affair with close family and friends, while the Sangeet and Reception had a grand guest list inviting the who’s and who of the industry. The Patel and Soni family believe in warmth and hospitality and although the wedding was at a grand scale each guest was welcomed with love and grace.
Quest 6: What are couples looking for this year?
Most couples these days have abandoned the idea of pleasing the world. They personally want to enjoy themselves at their wedding celebrations and they do not want to be tied down by unnecessary formalities. With respect to Décor, we believe that Couples these days are now moving away from extravagant bold colours to light shades and pastels. Pastels are very popular currently, adding a European classy touch to Indian Wedding celebrations. Having said that, couples always want their loved ones to enjoy and have a memorable time, so every wedding is made personalized keeping the couples taste in mind.
Quest 7: What is the most popular request you get in terms of decor?
Wedding Decor thoroughly depends on the location of the function. We select the theme and concepts for events according to the destination. For example, a Moroccan themed wedding will be suitable for a destination like Turkey, rather than Thailand. Times and trends have changed and weddings are no longer a simplistic ceremony. Couples look for Never seen before décor, which differs depending upon their taste and changing trends. Some want extravagant larger than life palace like décor with typical Indian traditional elements, whereas some prefer minimalistic simple elements with a European
touch.
