Interior design studio Tangerine Turfs, launched its first line of products at the Good Cow Café, Jubilee Hills on Friday. Aptly themed Celebration of India, the collection is a range of handcrafted furniture, kitchenware and décor products.
“The collection is a contemporary re-interpretation of India’s artistic heritage”, said Sigi Mulukutla, co-founder and operations manager, adding that all the elements – the colours, textures, fabrics and patterns- belong to the Indian heritage. Designed in house by Deepti Reddy, co-founder, the handcrafted, customisable range of products employ natural wood and Indian fabrics sourced from across the country. “People from outside Hyderabad have shown interest in our products”, said Snigdha Reddy, Co-founder and Manager, adding that they intend to launch an e-commerce portal, by the end of next month, in order to serve to a Pan India Clientele.
The launch was witnessed by celebrities from the film industry. Director Harish Shankar, Screenwriter B.V.S. Ravi, and Music director Raghu Kunche were some prominent names that graced the unveiling. Calling the range “A perfect fusion of contemporary and western”, Harish Shankar claimed that he’d never seen such unique products and was eager to purchase them. Others who witnessed the launch described the pieces as eye-catching, unique and decently priced high-end furniture.
