Leading lingerie brand Victoria's Secret has cancelled its annual fashion show!

Amid its dwindling television ratings and the increasing criticism of the event, reports stated that L Brands, the brand’s parent company, announced on Thursday that it would cancel the 2019 show "in an effort to evolve the marketing of Victoria’s Secret."

Launched in 1995, the show was at one time a major pop culture event that attracted millions of viewers each year. However, reports say that in 2018, it recorded the lowest ratings ever. The show was branded sexist, outdated and lacking diversity.

"We're figuring out how to advance the positioning of the brand and best communicate that to customers," reports quoted Stuart Burgdoerfer, L Brands chief financial officer.

The show is a milestone in the careers of supermodels like Tyra Banks, Heidi Klum and Miranda Kerr.
