Thirsty? Try this easy recipe for Mystery Melon by chef Himanshu Sonkar
Himanshu Sonkar, the head chef at Masquerade By Mystery Rooms, spent quite sometime honing his culinary skills under celebrity chef Kunal Kapoor at the Leela Ambience Gurugram Hotel & Residences. However, his love for cooking began quite early on. “I would often cook with my grandmother at the gurudwara. That’s when I started understanding the basics of ingredients and fell in love with the aroma of spices,” shared the Delhi-born chef, who has cooked for the likes of celebrities Sunny Leone and Kareena Kapoor Khan. However, it was one of his ventures at Royal Caribbean Cruise Liner at Miami when he created his favourite mocktail — Mystery Melon. “It quite easy to make this at home, just grab all the fruits in your fridge and get started,” said the chef, before letting us in on his secret recipe.
Apple 50 gms
Green apple 50 gms
Kiwi 30 gms
Pineapple 50 gms
Mango 50 gms
Vanilla ice cream 100 ml
Fresh cream: 50ml
Brownie 50 gm
Rose water 5 ml
Frozen watermelon 50 gms
■ Crush all the ingredients in a mixer grinder.
■ Drop a few pieces of frozen melon in a bowl.
■ Blend it with syrup and fresh cream.
■ Top it up with dry fruits, cream or choco syrup.
