Khloe Kardashian, Jessica Alba, Selena Gomez and many other super-fit celebrities have made
spinning the ultimate workout regimen. While there are many studios in Bengaluru that offer spinning classes along with other group workouts, PedalBeat, a first-of-its-kind exclusive spinning only studio opens its doors to take spinning to another level.
The studio, that’s based out of Chennai, and has branches in Hyderabad and Coimbatore,
launched in Bengaluru earlier this year. Mukund Rangarajan, co-founder and CEO, who has been a cyclist all his life, says, “The reason behind opening an exclusive spinning chain is to focus on improving cardiovascular health among Indians through a studio model that can be replicated at various points.” Since it’s a spinning-only studio, PedalBeat offers personalised monitoring of the heartbeat so every individual gets minute-by-minute feedback on the performance and endurance during the activity. “Every monitoring device is synced with our display board that’s monitored by a certified instructor,” says Mukund.
A first, PedalBeat also organises spinning competitions and early in September this year, they will host the SPINFONDO Indoor Crit Race that will be held simultaneously across their studios in all metros they are present in. “It’s a 35-minute challenge where participants are encouraged to cover the maximum distance they can,” explains Mukund. This challenge is open to everyone and has been organised in association with Tamilnadu Cycling Club. For those who think the indoor crit race is child’s play, the studio will introduce a tougher resistance challenge as the next event.

September 3, 6 am. At Sarjapur Main Road. Tickets (Rs 300) on eventjini.com
