Qadir Ali Baig Theatre Foundation’s Theatre Weekend in the city saw folks line-up for the popular Broadway play by American Playwright Ira Lewis, Chinese Coffee. It is a dark comedy and revolves around the friendship of two artistes. The play, directed by Danish Husain, and featuring himself and B’town actor Vrajesh Hirjee elicited some laughs from the audience, thanks to its candid plot points and dark humour. These designs are also heavily influenced by Czech artist and painter Alphonse Mucha from the 1800s, whose traditional bohemian sensibilities and Neoclassical motifs spoke to me and helped give voice to my personal style,” explains the designer.
