Hyderabadi socialites got together to raise money for the economically backward children for city-based NGO, Heal a Child’s costume party. Held at the Westin Hyderabad Mindspace, this time the guests dressed up as their favourite fictional characters. While the host Sabina Xavier dressed up as the Mother of Dragons, Daenerys Targaryen from Game of Thrones, there were others who took inspiration from their favourite superheroes. Also, some took a cue from Bollywood and dressed up as the lead characters of Padmavat and Dabbang. All the guests were seen having a gala time as they enjoyed the music and the hors d’oeuvre.
The January 2019 edition of Theatre Weekend featured two literature-based plays by renowned artistes. Rising theatre director Atul Satya Koushik from New Delhi brought ‘Kahani Teri Meri’ based on two heart-wrenching stories by legendary Hindi writers Dharamveer Bharati and Premchand. Popular theatre and film actor-director Danish Husain brought Qissebaazi to The Westin Hyderabad. The year’s first Theatre Weekend was a heady mix of entertainment and food for thought, in trademark style of Qadir Ali Baig Theatre Foundation’s theatre mandate for Hyderabad. A perfect theatrical start to the New Year.
On Saturday, Hyderabadis got together for the NGO Heal A Child’s costume party at the Westin Hyderabad Mindspace. Among the 500 guests who attended the party, the costumes of Dev Anand, Mumtaz and Meena Kumari seemed to be the favourites of the evening. The fundraising event was for the benefit of ailing underprivileged children.
