After a very quiet wedding on December 6 with Bangladeshi citizen Rafiath Rashid also known as Mithila, the workaholic filmmaker Srijit headed with his wife for a long honeymoon to Geneva and Greece. The director tells us from Geneva, "One of the reasons why we came to Geneva before going to Greece for the honeymoon is because Mithila had to register for PhD with the University of Geneva. She already is a Gold medallist and double Masters in Political Science and Early Child Development, so she wanted to climb the next academic rung".

A special screening of Srijit Mukherji's film Uma was organised by Shree Venkatesh Films just a day ahead of the film's release, on June 1. The film is the debut vehicle of actor Jisshu Sengupta's 12-year-old daughter Sara Sengupta and is based on a true story of a terminally ill child.
