Surbhi Shah
A unique initiative by Apollo Cancer Centres, ArtCan uses ancient Indian art form — Chitrasutra — to spread awareness about breast cancer.
Here are the steps >>>
Step 1: Raise your arm above your head and examine the breast and underarm region.
Step 2: Use the flat of your fingers to examine the breast while in the shower and while lying down or standing up.
Step 3: Check for lumps, swelling, and thickening in the breast by sliding your fingers up and down.
Step 4: Repeat step three but by moving your fingers in a circular motion.
Step 5: Now check for lumps or swelling by moving your fingers in wedges, like mowing a lawn.
Step 6: With the flat of your fingers, check for any lumps or swellings in the breast or the underarm region.
Step 7: Look out for any kind of changes in skin color, texture or dimpling.
Step 8: Check for nipple distortion, retraction, and fluid discharge.
