We all know that Akshay Kumar's latest, PadMan deals with a very imporatant topic, which is menstrual hygiene in rural areas. The script of the movie is based on a real life story of Arunachalam Muruganantham who single handedly started a revolution by making affordable sanitary napkins available in rural South India.
For promoting the movie, Akshay Kumar and the team started a social media challenge involving all the A-listers of the industry, asking them to pose with a sanitary napkin, thus promoting awareness around menstruation.
And what was started by Akshay followed by wife Twinkle Khanna seems to have gained momentum as actors including Anil Kapoor, Aamir Khan, Rajkummar Rao, Deepika Padukone, Alia Bhatt and more celebrites took this forward..
