Late actress Sridevi will be honoured at the 71st Cannes film festival for her contribution to cinema on May 16 at Le Majestic Beach. Husband Boney Kapoor and their two daughter Janhvi and Khushi Kapoor will be present at the occasion. The evening will showcase her best scenes and performances to the audience at the French Riviera.
Boney said that he feels that he feels happy to see this global recognition for Sridevi and continued saying that he is happy that people from all over the world are recognising her body of work. It's also very comforting to know that she lives on through her work.
This year, Sridevi was posthumously given the National Award for Best Actress for her role in MOM, which was her last feature film. The award was collected by Boney Kapoor along with daughters Janhvi and Khushi. Janhvi wore her mother's saree at the award ceremony.
In a statement released by her family at the time of the National Film Awards they said, It is a very proud yet sad moment for them and they wish Sridevi was here with them. She truly deserves it and she has been around for almost 50 years. She had always given her best to all her films. Finally, unfortunately, after she has left, that she has been awarded this honour.
