The audience is more evolved than the Bollywood film industry: Anushka Sharma

The actress comparing films like Dangal, Raazi and Stree said that while they weren’t expected to do well, they did go on to do well even if it was for a niche audience.

Anushka Sharma is a diverse actor and that is evident from every role she has played from Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi to Sui Dhaaga now, which is about a woman starting her own business. In a recent interview, the actress was talking about how Bollywood has evolved with its films and how the audience has helped in the process positively. 

Anushka said the reason that realistic films are being watched as much as commercial films are because the audience has evolved more than the industry and they are actually the driving force. She added that while the industry does all kinds of films, there is no such agenda to make any kind of movie because everybody is trying to do interesting roles and make good movies. While many people said Sui Dhaaga is for a niche audience, she said there are many others who like it and she is catering to those people, who like to watch all kinds of films.
