Another week has gone by in a whirl of yellow, with the Chennai Super Kings keeping us on our toes as we get to the business end of the tournament. My travels this week took me to beautiful Jaipur, where the city was lit up in hues of pink as part of the ‘cancer out’ initiative. The pretty lights distracted us from the crazy heat as temperatures inched to the early forties. And then it was back to CSK’s home away from home, Pune, where we faced off against table toppers — the Sun Risers Hyderabad. We were missing our South Indian food, so off the field, I challenged my co-hosts for the day, Muthu and L Sivaramakrishnan to an idli eating contest. LS showed us that he’s not just the ‘spin king’, but by his own declaration, is the ‘idli king’ as well.

Meanwhile, back in Chennai, the fun continued at Palladium starting with the launch of Kompanero, a luxury accessory and footwear brand. We all know the ladies love their shoes, but for a change, it was nice to see an equal number of young gents in attendance. Making a splash was starlet Regina Cassandra, in a specially styled look showing off her ‘grungy chic’ side. Besides taking selfies with the actor, the guests had a great time showcasing the very ‘Instagrammable’ store on social media. Later in the week, it was a slightly different profile of people at a special Mother’s Day brunch at Palladium. Mother-daughter duos turned up for an afternoon of food and fashion at a breathtakingly beautiful setting. The meal was accompanied by an ‘easy breezy’ fashion show curated by Shilpa Vummiti, showing off the season’s latest offerings.

And making the jump from flirty florals prints and mimosas, this week also saw the launch of a new Harley Davidson store in the city. Don’t get me wrong; there were quite a few ladies in attendance, who were happy to be part of the ‘HOG’ brigade. It certainly was an impressive sight. Also present for the occasion was Peter MacKenzie, Managing Director of Harley Davidson.
