Veteran actress Geethanjali Ramakrishna passed away due to a heart attack in the wee hours of Thursday in Hyderabad. She was 62.

The actress was reportedly undergoing treatment in a private hospital in the city.  

Born in Kakinada in Andhra Pradesh, Geethanjali has acted in more than 500 films across languages. Some of her notable works include Dr Chakravarthy, Seetharama Kalyanam, Letha Manasulu, Bobbili Yuddham, Devatha, Letha Manasulu and Sambarala Rambabu. She also acted in a few television shows. Her last film is Tamannaah’s That Is Mahalakshmi.

The last rites are said to be performed in the evening today in Film Nagar.
