Kawasaki India has launched the MY19 Ninja 650
The Indian concern of Kawasaki Motors has been on a launch spree in recent times and have been updating just about every product in their portfolio. Further to that, the company opened its factory in Chakan near Pune about a year ago and thus have managed to bring down the cost on some of their models. Amongst the models assembled at this unit is the new Ninja 650 which has received a bit of an upgrade in the MY19 version.
Launched in a new flat spark black colour, the motorcycle is one of the four distinct models that Kawasaki offers in the 650 cc category. It is also a popular model, for the bike is offered at a rather attractive price and that really has ensured it success in the market. Powering the vehicle is a parallel twin engine that boasts of a DOHC, 8-valve system capable of generating 68 PS of power and 65.7 Nm of torque.
The setup is ideal for short runs in the city as well as touring and to further complement the bike’s long distance riding capabilities you also get an upright seating position which isn’t as aggressive as what we’ve seen on the larger capacity Ninja motorcycles. Add to that, Kawasaki offers the Ninja 650 with ABS and an ‘ECO’ ride indicator as standard. The bike is touted to be rather fun to ride and is probably one of the best value-for-money options in the Kawasaki line-up currently.
The Ninja 650 retails for `5,49,000.
