Academy of Fine Arts is hosting an exhibition of photographs by lawyer Subhrendu Halder at its New South gallery A and B. The exhibition called Glimpses through the lens of Subhrendu comprises more than 50 photographs of the advocate, who started capturing scenes from nature on his several solo trips across the country.
“Photography is my hobby since childhood and nature is my chosen subject,” says Subhrendu, a self-taught photographer who has captured various glimpses of mountains, seas, wildlife, along with some historical places too.
“What I like to capture, is the different faces of nature and how it changes through different places,” he adds. The most distinguishing factor of Subhrendu’s photographs are the angles from which they have been taken. “I believe what we see in a picture or image- depends a lot on which angle we choose to see it from-that makes a huge difference,” says Subhrendu, who escapes from the city- during his annual vacations to capture interesting compositions from the wilderness.
