Calling history buffs! The author behind popular titles like City of Djinns and White Moghuls, William Dalrymple will be in Bengaluru to launch his latest book The Anarchy. William's new title explores how the East India Company grew in size and profits by exploiting the riches of India. The author will be speaking about what went into the writing of this chronicle and will later sign copies of the books. Get your copy signed and don't forget that selfie with William.

Designuru
October 13- 18

Here's some exciting news for all design enthusiasts. Designuru 2.O, the second edition of the bi-annual design festival by Institute of Indian Interior Designers is back. The seven day festival will be an amalgamation of talks, exhibitions and workshops. From art walks, movie screenings, product design and urban design workshops to photography talks, there's a lot happening. One of the highlights is the Making of Hampi workshop by Meera Natampalli and Mamata Rao. So all you design lovers, pull out your notepads and design books for the engaging sessions.

Diverse Perceptions

Eight artists who have been mentored by acclaimed painter AV Ilango will present their work this week as part of the show Diverse Perceptions. From artist Afshana Sharmeen's cityscapes, Aishwarya R's wildlife paintings and Shanker's pen and ink works to Reena's sculptures, each artist comes with signature styles and approaches to art.

Bengaluru Art Mantram Festival
October 12-20 and October 24 - 26

The city's much-loved arts fest the Bengaluru Art Mantram Festival is back this week. An initiative that brings together artisans, craftsmen, Padma Awardees and practitioners all at one place to meet art lovers will be a 15-day fest. Activities include a dance appreciation workshop, art exhibitions by Padma Awardees and an exhibition of works by the late artist Yusuf Arakkal, a fashion show and a national conference on arts, craft and design. The venue will also host an Art Souk and a Kalagram - a crafts market.
