One of India’s most popular post-rock bands, Aswekeepsearching, happened to visit Russia on tour a while ago, after the release of their last album, ZIA. That’s when they realised that they need to rethink the structure of their band-related merchandise and up their fashion game. That thought prompted the launch of their debut collection Ativa, which ensures that even people who are unaware of their music fall in love with their ensembles.
Talking about the debut collection, drummer Gautam Deb says, “The collection is not only for our fans, but also for all those who like minimalist fashion.” Done up entirely in black and white, the collection features a few gender-neutral outfits.
The band roped in Pune-based designer Tanaya Sharma to get the sartorial game right, who informs, “I wanted the silhouettes, textures and designs that would reflect the brand’s sensibilities. The use of black ikat for this collection aims at defining experimental and minimalistic designs.” The collection comprises short-sleeved shirts, jackets and crop tops and the cuts which remain fluid.
