As Nucleya continues to dominate the narrative of electronic music in the country, the Delhi-based music producer who recently made it to the Top 150 DJ Mag List, will be making his first stopover in Coimbatore as the headlining act for Sunburn Reload’s latest edition. Opening for the bass master on his Sunburn debut here is Ukrainian trap DJ Teri Miko who has been roped in as the accompanying act for the upcoming festival on December 8.

Only the second edition of Sunburn in the city, the electronic dance music festival has created quite the buzz following its city debut in March with Zaeden and Sianna Catherine, setting the tone for future festivals. “For a city that has a large party crowd, the party and EDM music scene is almost non-existent, which makes the excitement around the festival all the more understandable,” shares Sayuj Ramesh of Groove Entertainment. Better known by his stage name DJ Zerik, the 24-year-old who brought Reload to the city, hopes to create a larger base for dance music in the city, even as most youngsters head to Chennai and Bengaluru to party. “The Bass Rani musician (Nucleya) is ruling the EDM scene and Teri Miko is the trap queen — bringing these two who excel in their own sub-genre of music seemed like the definite thing to do.”

Boasting of a unique visual experience, this edition will feature Nucleya’s sub cinema show, with a custom-built stage and the 39-year-old DJ’s signature visuals that are a crowd favourite. With the 30,000 sq ft Hindustan College ground playing the host venue, the festival is expected to see a crowd of over 7,000 party-goers, most of them, students from the city and Kerala. Returning to the Sunburn Reload stage will also be other opening acts of electro-house and progressive duo from Eranakulam, Pistolheads and Lucknow-based Distort.
