In 2013, detailed message from frontman Gerard Way signalled the end of Emo rock band My Chemical Romance. For the first time in six years, the band changed their profile image on their social media pages to a candle and a new Instagram page popped up and began posting stories. Rightly enough, the anticipation of a reunion sent fans into a frenzy - a gig for in six years!

My Chemical Romance hasn't performed together since 2012, and their most recent album is 2010's Danger Days: The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys. In 2014, Way blogged that the group had officially broken up, but hinted they might return down the line.

“My Chemical Romance is done. But it can never die. It is alive in me, in the guys, and it is alive inside all of you. I always knew that, and I think you did too. Because it is not a band — it is an idea.”

Since then, speculation about a possible reunion has been off and on, picking up especially in June 2019 when Joe Jonas from the Jonas Brothers said he heard Gerard and Mikey Way, Frank Iero and Ray Toro rehearsing in the hall next to him. Lero initially denied the rumours, before intriguing the audience by suggesting “anything is possible.”

The timing is right for a reunion. Back in March, the band's landmark album, Three Cheers For Sweet Revenge, made a reappearance on the Billboard 200.

There's no word yet about new musical releases, but pop-culture e-tailer, Hot Topic has already announced a new My Chemical Romance merch line.

Of course, fans worldwide went crazy, recalling their emo-days when they painted their eyes with black eyeliner and dyed their head in raven-black.
