Maths genius Shakuntala Devi's daughter visits Vidya Balan on the film's sets
After essaying the much-appreciated role of a super talented ISRO scientist in Mission Mangal, talented Bollywood actor Vidya Balan is already busy shooting in London for her next, Shakuntala Devi, based on the life of the maths genius from Chennai. Balan is playing the mathematician in the movie and the first teaser of the film featuring her has already received a huge response from the audience and fans alike.
Produced by Sony Pictures Networks Productions (SPN Productions), the film division of Sony Pictures Networks India (SPN) along with Abundantia Entertainment this film is a biopic that brings to life the legendary and inspiring story of Shakuntala Devi also popularly known as ‘The Human Computer.'
The first day of the movie's shooting, that is taking place in London, saw Shakuntala Devi's daughter, Anupama Banerji visiting the sets and giving the Mahurat clap.
Anupama, who stays in London, was visibly thrilled to see Vidya in her late mother Shakuntala Devi’s look and got quite emotional. She praised Vidya for pulling off the look so well and also mentioned that it instantly reminded her of her mother. Anupama was accompanied to the sets by her husband, Ajay Abhay Kumar, and daughter Naina.
Shakuntala Devi took the world by storm with her number crunching talent and making swift calculations from a very young age. Despite no formal education, she made a name for herself globally as a ‘math genius’. Her great mathematical skills even find a mention in the Guinness Book of World Records.
The film is being directed by Anu Menon and will be released in the summer of 2020.
