It seemed like actress Sonali Kulkarni had been missing in action. Until her recent film with Poster Boys in which she played Sunny Deol's wife, it seemed like Sonali had bid adieu to Bollywood. But the actress says it was just because she was busy with other commitments. "I wasn't able to focus on mainstream and commercial Hindi films because I have been working in many short films and films that are made for festivals," she says. But since Poster Boys, Sonali is back in the news again, particularly because she has started shooting for a new Bollywood film, Hope Aur Hum.

The actress will be working closely with Naseeruddin Shah who plays her father-in-law. For most young actors, it certainly is a dream to act alongside Shah, and Sonali reveals her excitement when she says, "I am on cloud seven. It's been my dream to work with him. Naseer saab is so unassuming and compassionate, I am speechless when he is around. But I am not speechless because of nervousness. I am quiet because he compels you to think and react. This process is pretty exciting." The film is about the relationship between the daughter-in-law, the son and the father-in-law, the actress says that there is an incident that occurs in the story and that leads to the rest of the narrative unfolding.

Now that Sonali seems to be focusing on Hindi films, she says she is open to working in all genres. Considering that she worked in a comedy, Poster Boys, Sonali says that's something she is really looking forward to. "My track in the film was pretty funny. What I discovered is how I got my comic timing right and people really appreciated that. What nobody knows is that I mimic friends really well. I do hope I get more comedy roles to play," says the actor who is also playing the lead in the upcoming Marathi film Gulabjamun and will be seen in a comedy titled Dil, Dimaag, Batti.
