Many Bollywood actors have revealed their fight with depression and Zaira Wasim of Dangal fame seems to be the latest victim. The 17-year-old actress who plays Geeta Phogat in the Aamir Khan-starrer movie revealed her struggle with anxiety and depression in an Instagram post early on Friday in a two-page note.
The National award-winning actress in her Instagram post said that she had been struggling from anxiety and depression for the last four years and while everybody keeps saying it is just a phase or that she is too young, she would still like to address finally address it. She also went on to add that she needs to take a ‘complete break’ from school and work so that she could figure things out. The actress said that during the four years she has been suffering from it, she has even had suicidal thoughts but did not share it due to the stigma around the issue.
The Secret Superstar actress said the “awful phase” had put her in a position that she never wished or chose to be in. She went on to add that she suffered her first panic attack at 12 and has had countless episodes since then that she has lost count. She even put herself a bubble of denial despite knowing the reality which has brought her to this stage where she just had to get it out.
