In a shocker, Saroj Khan defends casting couch, says industry at least gives work, doesn’t rape and abandon
The three-time National Award winner went on to add that the casting couch is founded on principle and is based on consent.
Veteran Bollywood choreographer Saroj Khan on Tuesday made a shocking statement to start another storm regarding casting couches in the film industry. The choreographer in a press conference said that at least the industry gives jobs and doesn’t rape and abandon people.
Saroj Khan went on to add that the method is ‘age-old’ and also why the entertainment industry alone should be targeted for it. While the choreographer has apologised for her statement, it has not gone down well with many people.
The three-time National Award winner went on to add that the casting couch is founded on principle and is based on consent. The artistes are also given a choice and they can choose not to work with someone who has asked for favours.
