After the success of Ranbir Kapoor’s Sanju, there is a lot of buzz about biopics in Bollywood and while Rishi Kapoor said he had been approached to play Khushwant Singh, it has to be yet confirmed. However, producer Ronnie Screwvala is said to have bought the rights to make a biopic on Indian tennis star Sania Mirza.

According to various media reports, Ronnie has bought the rights to tell her story after he was amazed by it and it is not a secret either that Sania shares a good rapport with everybody in the film industry. However, the actor to play the tennis star has not yet been revealed as it is not finalised. Interestingly, this is not the first time that a film has been made about a sportsperson. Recently, Diljith Dosanjh played Indian hockey player Sandeep Singh in Soorma. Previously, biopics of Milkha Singh, Mary Kom and most recently MS Dhoni have been made as Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, Mary Kom and M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story have been played by Farhan Akhtar, Priyanka Chopra and Sushant Singh Rajput respectively.

Additionally, biopics about Indian badminton player Saina Nehwal and retired professional shooter Abhinav Bindra are also in the making and will be played by Shraddha Kapoor and Harshvardhan Kapoor, respectively.
