Bollywood has recently produced many actors like Rajkummar Rao and Vicky Kaushal, who have gone beyond the usual cut to deliver amazing films. However, Karan Johar recently talking to Anupama Chopra said some of these actors now have a swollen ego and are even delusional, and even went ahead to call them crazy because of the paychecks they are asking for him.

Karan talking about the newer actors said it is a disease which everybody has these days and just because the actors have delivered two box office hits, they think they are invincible. Karan adding more to the subject said that it is a flawed approach in films because every film has a scale and the better option is to take a backend deal which does not pressurize the film’s budget. Karan mentioning the new-age actors Rajkummar Rao, Ayushmann Khurrana and Vicky Kaushal said he hopes they are solid and sensible about their monetary choices because they are wonderful actors. Interestingly, Karan also took a dig at celebrity management and said that most of them don’t even know how the industry works, which makes monetary discussions exhausting.

Producer Siddharth Roy Kapur adding to Karan’s take on the issue said that a star’s stature is measured by how many people he can pull to the screens on the first day. Siddharth taking the example of Thugs Of Hindostan said it did well on the first day because of Aamir Khan, however, the downward spiral later was because of the content.
