Not many people know that Tamil actress Namitha started off as a beauty pageant contestant in Gujarat, who even went on to be crowned Miss Surat in 1998. She was only 17 then, and the actress has come a long way since her modelling days.  After not being able to make a breakthrough into the Hindi film industry, Namitha finally accepted an invitation to audition for a Telugu film, Sontham in 2002. But it was her portrayal of a Marwadi girl in the widely popular Telugu film Gemeni, opposite Venkatesh that really catapulted her to fame.  At the The New Indian Expresspremises shooting for the next few days, we caught up with the 30-something actress about few of her favourite products and why her wishlist has 10 Hermes bags.

Look back at Namitha's style graph and you notice that the actress has undergone a transformation. She not only underwent a wardrobe change, but also a physical transformation. "There was a time between mid-2000s to end of 2010, I had very few clothes in my cupboard.  I would buy only have a pair of black jeans, blue jeans, and a navy blue t shirt and a black t shirt. Just the basics. I don't know when I got bitten by the fashion bug, but little by little my wardrobe extended." Owing to her weight loss in the last three years, the actress says that a lot of people also started noticing that she was becoming curvy, and said that she was beginning to resemble Kim Kardarshian, or Jennifer Lopez. "So I sat up and took note of my style, and just upped the ante by following them. I didn't get a stylist at all, because I don't know how this works. So whatever I see online, and interests me I follow that. Now, since I am methodical and disciplined, I have divided my wardrobe into colourful, beiges, military greens and blacks." From using only animal cruelty free products to even using the same four brands of perfume, Namitha let's us in on some of her favourite labels.
