Harvey Weinstein indicted on additional sexual assault charges; could face life imprisonment

Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein has been indicted on three additional charges on sexual harassment, out of which two of them could see him spend the rest of his life in prison. The disgraced producer is already facing three sex crime charges after two women made allegations of being raped by him. These charges will see him spend at least 25 years in prison. 

According to media reports, Harvey has been accused of sexual misconduct by a third woman, after the incident occurred in 2006. The woman has said that Weinstein forcefully performed oral sex on the woman when he met her on July 10 that year. He has been indicted by the Manhattan District Attorney on one count of criminal sexual act in the first degree and two counts of predatory sexual assault and are the most serious kind. A statement by the court said that all the charges are the result of all the witness and victims coming forward against Harvey Weinstein. 

However, the court has also stated that the investigations will continue against the Hollywood producer and has also appealed to all the survivors of the predatory abuse to come forward so that they can pursue justice. Interestingly, as soon as Harvey Weinstein was produced in court the last time on May 25, he was let out on a bail of one million dollars. He has pleaded not guilty and the trial date has still not been set.
