After the huge success of Rajkumar Hirani’s Sanju, Ram Gopal Varma has decided to make a new biopic on Sanjay Dutt as he feels the actor’s involvement in the 1993 blasts has not been dealt with properly. While Ranbir Kapoor has done a fabulous job in the film, a lot of people are saying it was an attempt to whitewash Dutt’s image.
According to various media reports, Sanjay Dutt’s sister Namrata Dutt has reacted to the idea of a new biopic questioning Ram Gopal Varma, as to why he wants to make another biopic and put them through all the pain. However, she said that if Sanjay Dutt has given a go-ahead for the film, she is nobody to say anything. She also went on to say in an interview that RGV’s stories are dark and what is he getting about going on and on about Sanjay Dutt’s life.
Talking about the real-life instances, Namrata said that it was really painful for the family during the time he went to jail. While sending him to rehab was easier every time they supported him through his drug addiction phase, everything else was really difficult. According to reports, Ram Gopal Varma’s film will focus on Sanjay being convicted under the Arms Act and is tentatively named Sanju: The Real Story.
