A manager tried to kiss me and even said I love you: Swara Bhasker on casting couches
Bollywood actress Swara Bhasker who has always been vocal about sexism and sexual harassment recently spoke about casting couches in the industry and the incident is shocking. Swara talking about a personal incident she experienced while auditioning for a role said that a producer’s manager misbehaved with her, and it is quite normal for casting couches to do so.
According to several media reports, the 30-year-old in a recent interview said that casting couches and the behaviour of men were worse and the manager constantly insisted on getting her residential address. She said he even tried to kiss her and actually said “I love you baby”, but she shirking gave him a mouthful of hair instead. The Veere Di Wedding actress said that feminism is just not about representation in the industry but also about equal opportunities for all women and even of accountability.
Swara Bhasker has completed shooting for Abbas Tyrewala's comedy-drama Mango, which also stars Chandan Roy Sanyal and Monali Thakur, among others.
