Woody Allen’s son Moses Farrow on Wednesday in an open note said that his father is innocent and while he is a private person, he cannot remain silent anymore as he has been wrongly condemned for an act he did not commit. Moses has written a post regarding the allegation made by his sister and Woody’s daughter Dylan said that the American director had sexually abused her when was seven-years-old.
Moses in his 5,000-word post elaborated about the claims he had made in his previous interviews about how his mother was abusive to him and all his other siblings and she had coerced Dylan into accusing Allen of assault. In the post titled A Son Speaks Out, Moses also goes on to state that Dylan was alone with his father in his apartment countless times over the years without a hint of impropriety, yet some would have you believe that at the age of 56, he suddenly decided to become a child molester in a house full of hostile people ordered to watch him like a hawk.
Interestingly, Dylan Farrow responded by saying that when he last made these claims, it was an attempt to deflect from a credible allegation made by an adult woman, by trying to impugn her mother who has only ever been supportive of her and her siblings. She also went on to say that it’s easily disproven, contradicts years of his own statements, is beyond hurtful to her personally, and is part of a larger effort to discredit and distract from her assault. She also did not shy away from saying that her brother is a troubled person and she is sorry that he’s doing this.
The sexual allegation stems from the open letter by Dylan Farrow in 2014 where she alleged that her father sexually abused her and Allen went on to deny it. The director also went on to say that it has be investigated and he has no interest in the situation. He even added that he gets harassed all the time and it won’t affect him.
