Earlier this year, Tanushree Dutta spoke out about being harassed by former co-star Nana Patekar, which prompted many others to share their experiences of being sexually harassed. While the movement became big in October, it has now died down after several names like Subhash Ghai, Alok Nath, Vikas Bahl and Sajid Khan came up. However, Tanushree Dutta has said that while the initial burst is over, it will be in people’s minds for a long time.

In an interview, Tanushree said the story will remain in people’s mind to help bring about change, especially in a film industry like Bollywood. She said that while it initially started only in Bollywood, the effect was seen all over as people from other industries have also spoken against it. The Horn Ok Please actress said people have been conditioned to think that it is okay for men to behave inappropriately which makes the actress compromise without complaining.

Talking about the effect, she said people have been dropped from projects and production houses are now cautious to not hire names that have been accused. However, she said that it is disappointing that not many actresses have spoken up about the issue and said while some like Swara Bhaskar’s and Kangana Ranaut’s have been recorded, there are many others that have not been told.
