Popular comedians and founders of All India Bakchod Tanmay Bhat and Gursimran have reportedly stepped away from active participation after several sexual harassment allegations surface against the two. The comedy sketch group which has risen to popularity over the years released a statement on their Twitter about the announcement.
Talking about the situation, the statement released by the HR department of the company said Tanmay’s role in the recent events cannot be overlooked and so he will not be involved in any operations, under further notice. The statement adds that in the case of Gursimran Khamba, the allegations are a personal matter and he has a released a statement of his own about the incident. However, being sensitive to the issue, the company has put the comedian on temporary leave until there is more clarity about the situation. It goes on to state that the steps have been taken because they understand the need for a safer environment and want to make it a gender-sensitive workspace.
The comedy sketch group said they do not know what the future holds for the two or AIB but as of now, the operations will be handled by Ashish Shakya and Rohan Joshi, among other senior team members.
