Bollywood star Shahid Kapoor is back to filming after a brief paternity break for the birth of his son Zain, and he will start working on a Hindi remake of the Telugu film Arjun Reddy. However, keeping in mind the Hindi audience and the change in the setting, the film has been titled Kabir Singh for more appeal.

Shahid Kapoor who made the announcement on Twitter earlier on Friday, started shooting for the films earlier this month for the film which is directed by Sandeep Vanga of his own Telugu film. While Arjun Reddy was set in Bangalore and Hyderabad, Kabir Singh will be set in Mumbai and Delhi. The film has been produced by Bhushan Kumar, Murad Khetani and Ashwin Varde and will release in 2019, as per reports. The story revolves around a Punjabi who goes through four phases in character, which is a collegian who turns into a working professional before he self-destructs and gets reformed.

Kabir Singh will also see Kiara Advani in the leading role opposite Shahid Kapoor and is expected to join the shoot early in November. Interestingly, Kiara starred opposite Shahid in the remake of Prabhudheva’s Urvashi
